The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) led the ceremonial kick-off of the 18-Day Campaign To End Violence Against Women (VAW) held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Reception Hall in Pasay City.

In accordance with Proclamation 1172 s. 2006, the campaign to end VAW is an annual event observed from November 25 to December 12 in support of the Philippine government’s goals for the protection of women and their rights. It also serves as a venue for individuals and institutions from various sectors to re-ignite their commitment on anti-VAW efforts.

A crowd of almost 3,000 participants joined the event, with live performances by the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) and singer/songwriter Noel Cabangon.
