President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. honored 33 Filipino artists and their works as he led the 15th Ani ng Dangal Awards of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) at the Ceremonial Hall in Malacañan Palace.

Ani ng Dangal (Harvest of Honors) is the highlight and concluding rite of the National Arts Month celebrated every February. The state recognition celebrates Filipino talents who have earned highest international awards and accolades in the categories of Architecture and Allied Arts, Cinema, Dance, Music, Visual Arts and Broadcast Arts for the past year.

“Tunay na karapat-dapat lamang na pahalagahan ang itinuturing nating kayamanan ng ating lahi at kilalanin ang karangalang dala nito sa ating bayan,” the President said in his keynote message.

He lauded the NCCA for holding the annual awarding rites and leading the preservation, development and promotion of Philippine arts and culture; and called on the Agency to further support and cultivate the talents of budding Filipino artists and creators in their respective fields.

“Sa inyong patuloy na paglikha at pagsulong ng ating orihinal na mga katha, pinapa-unlad ninyo ang ating industriya ng sining at pinakikilala ang ating lahi sa buong mundo,” President Marcos Jr. added.

On its 15th year, the Ani ng Dangal has four (4) awardees from the Architecture and Allied Arts, one (1) awardee from Broadcast Arts, 11 awardees from Cinema, four (4) awardees from Dance, 10 awardees from Music and three (3) awardees from Visual Arts.
