The Philippines hosts this year’s 13th Conference of the ASEAN Ministers Responsible for Information (AMRI) and the 14th Senior Officials Meeting Responsible for Information (SOMRI) and related meetings in Cebu.

Secretary Herminio “Sonny” B. Coloma chairs the 13th AMRI Conference while PCOO Undersecretary Jess Anthony Q. Yu is the 14th SOMRI Chair with the Presidential Communications Operations Office as the lead agency. The SOMRI that meets once every year will assist and work closely with the AMRI.

Around 100 to 120 delegates composed of Ministers and Deputy Ministers for communications and information from the 10 countries of ASEAN and three dialogue partners (Japan, South Korea, China) are expected to attend.

Among the possible discussion in the AMRI and SOMRI in Cebu are digital television and broadcasting, media programs and networking, and efforts to strengthen cooperation in the use of all forms of media to benefit the regional bloc.
