President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the 126th Anniversary of the Office of the President (OP) at the Palace Grounds in Malacañang.
Speaking before his fellow public servants, the President called for each and everyone’s commitment to perform their mandate with renewed zeal and vigor, reminding them of the shared responsibility as OP employees to ensure delivery of public trust.
“As much as this is my obligation, it is also yours, for you are my fellow public servants in the Office of the President. It is through you that the President can fully and effectively employ the powerful position of trust, even if you work behind the scenes and function in the absence of the public eye, you ensure that everything runs smoothly and make things impressively successful,” the Chief Executive said.
He also urged them to perform their mandate backed by solid policy, data-driven analysis, and a comprehensive grasp of the needs and demands of the Filipino people.
“With your sustained excellent work ethic, which you have long demonstrated, we can achieve this and build a Philippines that is respected by the world. We are servant-heroes of the great Malacañang, we are in a unique position to make a real difference in the lives of our people. So I urge you to handle this privilege and take responsibility for your respective positions with your traditional dignity and humility,” he concluded.
Founded on March 22, 1897 during the Tejeros Convention with General Emilio Aguinaldo as elected President of the Philippine Revolutionary Government, the Office of the President stands to this day as the administrative, advisory and consultative government agency that aids the President of the Philippines in performing their duty as Head of State and Chief of the Executive Branch of government.
