President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the celebration of the 121st Police Service Anniversary of the Philippine National Police (PNP) at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center in Camp Brigadier General Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City.

In his message, the Commander-in-Chief conveyed his sincerest appreciation to the newly installed 28th PNP Chief, Lieutenant General Rodolfo Santos Azurin Jr., for accepting the challenge to lead the 226,000-strong uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the PNP.

“I am confident that we have chosen the right leader in his person to head the PNP so that it continues to evolve, continues to grow, and to develop into a well-balanced institution – effective and capable of steadfastly rendering faithful service to our sovereign nation and all its citizenry,” President Marcos Jr. said.

“With our new PNP Chief at the helm, the upgrade of the PNP will be inevitable. And the police force shall emerge stronger, more accesible, more responsive, more inclusive, more relevant than ever,” he added.

With the theme, “Matibay na Ugnayan ng Pulisya at Mamamayan Tungo sa Pagkakaisa, Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran”, the Commander-in-Chief conferred awards to PNP personnel and command units that have exhibited exemplary performance in their field of service and operations, and urged them to be united in supporting the PNP leadership in its crusade.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. and PNP Chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. joined President Marcos Jr. in the awarding ceremony.
