Following his call on Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. attended a working luncheon hosted by the Prime Minister on the final day of his state visit.

Apart from government officials, business leaders from the Philippines and Vietnam attended the event, with the President underscoring the importance of fostering robust business partnerships and collaboration between the two nations.

“Our objective here is beyond strengthening political ties; it now extends to enhancing
our regional economic integration agenda…Our goal is to create an environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, mutual growth. Vietnam’s economic dynamism and the Philippines’ strategic location makes this collaboration not only beneficial but essential for the progress of both our countries,” the President said in his remarks.

He conveyed his gratitude to the Vietnamese government for their continued support to Filipino investors in their country, as well as expressed his hopes that these Filipino companies will be able to further grow their businesses in Vietnam. At the same time, he called on the Vietnamese investors to look to the Philippines as their partner for expansion.

“The Philippines can serve as a secondary location in support of your manufacturing operations in Vietnam, especially in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, automotive and services,” President Marcos Jr. concluded in his speech.
