After meeting with the President of the Czech Republic, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. attended a working lunch hosted by Senate President Milos Vystrcil at the Senate of the Parliament.

The President noted with appreciation the recent positive exchanges between the Philippines and Czech Republic parliaments, and enjoined the Senate President to help promote trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Discussions also included the 50th anniversary of Philippines-Czech Republic bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation on labor, agriculture, food security and climate change.

There was also an exchange of views on regional and international issues, apart from President Marcos Jr. expressing the Philippines’ priority for the safe and orderly migration of Filipinos in the Czech Republic, guided by both nations’ labor regulations, to protect the overseas Filipino workers’ (OFWs) rights and well-being.
