President Rodrigo Roa Duterte conferred the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kampilan to 12 wounded-in-action (WIA) soldiers recuperating at the Camp Evangelista Station Hospital (CESH), 4th Infantry Division (4ID) in Camp BGen. Edilberto Evangelista, Cagayan de Oro City.

Receiving the award were SSg Ricardo Galang, SSg Erwin Corbeta, Sgt Reuben Palahang, Cpl Renie Laurente, Cpl Rec Anthony Escalera, PFC Kim Alaya-ay, PFC Aldon Acar, PFC Louie Jay Anib, PFC Jomar Ramirez, PFC Felimon Villeza, Jr., Pvt Leo Jan Ugbinada, and Pvt Kent Edmund Fuego, all of whom are serving under the Philippine Army of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The soldiers were recognized for their bravery during the military’s counterinsurgency operations against the New People’s Army (NPA) and the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG). They also each received a timepiece and cellphone unit from the Commander-in-Chief.
