President Rodrigo Roa Duterte gave his condolences to the bereaved families of CPL Josel Miravalles and PFC Jay Pee Duran in a visit at their wake in Camp Siongco Mortuary Chapel, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

Both soldiers perished in a firefight against an unknown number of rebels in Midsayap, North Cotabato on August 14, 2016.

The President also conferred upon the Killed-in-Action (KIA) soldiers the Posthumous Award that promoted them to the next higher rank.
