President Rodrigo Roa Duterte visited the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) to check on the condition of a police officer that was shot while performing his duties during an anti-drug operation in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur.

According to the President, Senior Inspector Ricky Roy Remoroza was critically hit in the chest and abdomen when a suspected drug pusher named Vicky Calago fired at him when they were serving an arrest warrant for violation of the anti-drug law. Due to the incident, the police officer needs to undergo blood transfusion for his recovery.

After visiting Senior Inspector Remoroza, the President talked to the other patients and the SPMC medical staff who greeted him warmly in return.
