Continuing the government’s quick response to flood-affected communities, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally visited the Maly Elementary School Evacuation Center in San Mateo, Rizal.
The President oversaw the ongoing distribution of relief assistance led by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in coordination with local government units (LGUs). Distributed items include child-friendly spaces kits, food packs, hygiene kits, women-friendly spaces kits, sleeping kits, family water filtration kits and ready-to-eat meals.
These essential resources have been pre-positioned by the DSWD in line with its rapid disaster response strategy, ensuring timely support for affected communities and helping alleviate the hardships caused by recent calamities.
At present, 546 families comprising 2,102 internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the combined impact of Typhoon ‘Crising’, Tropical Storm (TS) ‘Dante’, Severe Tropical Storm (STS) ‘Emong’ and the enhanced southwest monsoon are taking shelter at the Maly Elementary School in San Mateo, Rizal.
