President Benigno S. Aquino III fielded questions from elementary students of the Learning Tree Child Growth Center on current issues concerning his administration and personal information about himself when he visited the center in Sikatuna Village, Quezon City.

Grade Six student Frances Crisostomo asked the President about ‘Daang Matuwid’ and how can a young child contribute to the government. In reply, the President explained that “Daang Matuwid is going away with the culture of impunity” in governing the country. He gave examples on the effect of his ‘Daang Matuwid’ governance, citing the reforms in the judicial system and economic development through several credit rating upgrades. He further said that students like Frances can contribute to the ‘Daang Matuwid’ by remembering the teachings of his parents and teachers between what is bad and good and exercising the latter.

Alfonso Lava, another Grade Six pupil, asked the President about his studying techniques. President Aquino advised the students to pay attention to their school lessons and continuously expand their knowledge through reading.

The President answered serious subjects about maritime dispute with China, cybercrime law, and corruption from the other students. He was also asked questions like what Filipino traits he wants to develop, his alternate job if he’s not the President, the hardships of being the top leader of the country, being an older brother or “Kuya” and his preferences on theater musicals.

The visit wherein he personally answered the queries was prompted by the letters sent to him by the Grade Six students of the school.

He was welcomed by the school members led by Directress Anna Francisca Lacanilao, Principal Gracel Mae Jomales and the teachers of LTCGC.
