Lucky Plaza Mall, Singapore
19 November 2014

A short stop to dine at a Jollibee store capped off President Benigno Aquino’s two-day working visit in Singapore.

Filipinos shopping and hanging out at the Lucky Plaza mall in Orchard Road cheered and mobbed the President like a big celebrity when he entered the shopping mall with Jollibee Foods Corporation founder Tony Tan Caktiong all the way up to the sixth floor where the fast food restaurant is located.

Jollibee Singapore partners, Patrick Chong and Jennie Chua, operations director for Asia Pacific Rodel Alcantara and Jollibee Singapore area manager John Nacional also welcomed and accompanied President Aquino and his delegation inside the restaurant.

The Jollibee Singapore first opened its doors in March 2013 and thousands of customers lined up to have a taste of its popular and bestselling Chickenjoy on the first day. A second store located at the food court of the same Lucky Plaza establishment opened in June 2014.

Jollibee’s first store in Singapore is a joint venture between Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) wholly owned subsidiary Golden Plate Pte. Ltd. and Beeworks Inc.  It is the company’s 8th international market.

JFC has a total store network of 958 branches spread across South East Asia, the Middle East and North America. Of these, 111 are located outside the Philippines (Vietnam-50, United States-30, Brunei-12, Saudi Arabia-10, Qatar-3, Kuwait-3, Hong Kong-1 and Singapore-2).
