Following his visit in the province of Bohol, President Benigno S. Aquino III flew to Cebu to inspect a few of the heavily damaged areas in the city.

President Aquino first went to Basilica Minore del Santo Nino (Minor Basilica of the Holy Child), the oldest Roman Catholic Church established in the country. Its bell tower collapsed on the aftermath of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake last Tuesday (15 October 2013).

Afterwhich, the President proceeded to the Mandaue City Public Market. Fragments of rocks were strewed across the market floor and huge cracks were visible on its walls.

Joining the President were Cabinet Secretary Jose Rene Almendras, Social Welfare and Development Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Soliman and other local government officials.
