Following his visit to Tacloban City, President Benigno S. Aquino III flew to the province of Capiz where he distributed bags of relief goods to affected families in Barangay Culasi and held a briefing with different department heads and members of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC).

According to the reports presented by Capiz Governor Vic Tanco, typhoon “Yolanda” has affected a total number of 92,753 families, leaving 20 casualties, 1 missing and 35 injured persons as of today. The local government had also prepared 292 evacuation centers providing shelter to 11,494 families.

Meanwhile, the Departments of Public Works and Highways, Health, Social Welfare and Development and other agencies are taking actions to clear roads, prepare food assistance, provide enough medicine supplies and other measures in ensuring the health and safety of the families.
