On the second and last day of the United States (US) – Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Special Summit, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr. attended a working lunch led by US Vice President Kamala Harris at the US Department of State in Washington, D.C, USA.

Discussions in the event focused on maritime cooperation and health/pandemic recovery.

Hosted by President Joseph Biden, Jr., the Special Summit took place on 12-13 May 2022. It coincided with the commemoration of 45 years of US-ASEAN relations.

Secretary Locsin attended the US-ASEAN Special Summit as the Representative of the Government of the Philippines.
