President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., United States (US) President Joseph Biden Jr. and Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru reaffirmed their commitment to deepening trilateral cooperation during a virtual meeting via phone call at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.

The Leaders reviewed the progress achieved since the adoption of the Trilateral Joint Vision Statement in April 2024, which laid the groundwork for implementing bilateral and trilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest among the Philippines, the US and Japan.

These collaborations encompassed critical areas such as inclusive economic growth and resilience, crucial and emerging technologies, climate cooperation and clean energy, and promoting peace and security among the three nations.

President Marcos Jr. underscored the importance of sustaining and enhancing these achievements, while President Biden praised the ‘historic progress’ being made, particularly in maritime security, economic security and technological cooperation.

Prime Minister Ishiba expressed strong support for the partnership, highlighting the need to deepen cooperation across various fields.

The Leaders agreed to maintain the momentum of their partnership and explore new opportunities for collaboration, reinforcing their shared vision of a resilient and dynamic alliance.
