In a significant move to bring the government closer to the people, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. successfully led the ‘Trabaho at Serbisyong Pangkalusugan sa Bagong Pilipinas’ event at Old Manunca Elementary School in Sta. Rita, Samar.
In his brief remarks, the President emphasized the importance of generating more jobs for the nation, stating that it is vital to uplift Filipinos from poverty and improve the lives of their families.
He thanked nearly 15 employers, both local and overseas, for joining the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) initiative to provide job opportunities to about 1,944 job seekers, graduates of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS).
Additionally, he reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the well-being of both consumers and farmers in the Province. Through the Department of Agriculture (DA)-led Kadiwa stalls, affordable rice priced at PhP29 was made available, specifically for the graduating beneficiaries of 4Ps.
Recognizing the vital role of local government units (LGUs), the Chief Executive highlighted that the success of national government programs hinges on the strong coordination of local officials in addressing the specific needs of their respective provinces.
