Mabini grounds, Malacañang
December 23, 2024

All is calm and bright at the Malacañang grounds as families and loved ones gather to celebrate the Yuletide season and pray for lasting peace.

Now in its eighth (8th) day, the traditional ‘Misa de Gallo’ tells the story of the birth of John the Baptist, inviting the faithful to reflect on God’s faithfulness to His promises and trust that He will not let anyone down. The whole story of salvation is a glorious testament to the fulfillment of His promises.

The Mass, hosted by the ‘Tara sa Palasyo’ festivities of the Office of the President (OP), mirrors the incomparable celebration of Filipino Christmas — said to be the longest and one of the most festive in the world. It is observed not just as a holiday, but as a vibrant and heartwarming reunion of families centered on the birth of Jesus Christ, the arrival of the Savior.
