President Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke before the military troops of the 401st Infantry Brigade (401IB) and 402nd Infantry Brigade (402IB) at the Camp Datu Lipus Makapandong (CDLM), Municipality of Prosperidad in Agusan del Sur.

In the event, the Commander-in-Chief led the donning of ranks to the newly promoted officers and the awarding of medals to the military personnel under the 401st and 402nd Infantry Brigades.

With the assistance of Lt. General Benjamin Madrigal Jr. and MGen. Ronald Villanueva, President Duterte issued the promotion of twenty (20) military personnel composed of ten (10) personnel from the 401IB which includes Cpt. Rhandy Beronia, Cpt. Rodulfo Cordero Jr., Cpt. Renato Oller Jr., Cpt. Dominic Dableo, Cpt. Jiro Poblacion, Cpt. Adrian Muana, Cpt. Elpidio De Castro, 1Lt. Michael Pascua, and 1Lt. Jayson Luna.

Also, ten (10) personnel were up for promotion from 402IB namely Cpt. Albert Beran, Cpt. Ronald Putol, Cpt. Douglas Padillo, Cpt. Ariel Galimba, 1Lt. Gerald Gaston, SSg. Roel Hallasgo, SSg. Randy Fernandez, MSg. Allan Cruz, TSg. Gilbert Epino, and Cpl. Rosaldo Bagante.

Likewise, the Gold Cross Medal was awarded to the following; 1Lt. Nonnette Banggad, 2Lt. Jade Bryce Bune, and SSg. Marcelo Lagliva; Silver Cross Medal to Cpt. Engilbert Soriano, Silver Wing Medal to Col. Maurito Licudine; Military Merit Medal to 2Lt. Jordan Paner Padilla, TSg. Ramil Balunso, Cpl. Hernie Maisog, 1Lt. John Marayag and CAA Jason Malagunta.

In his message, the President said that he witnessed the hard work, dedication, and bravery of the men and women of the 401st and 402nd brigades in maintaining law and order in their operations.

“Through your valiant and relentless efforts, you have neutralized, apprehended and facilitated the surrenders of the regulars, Militia ng Bayan members, Sangay ng Partido Lokal members and more than 500 underground mass organization members. This led to the recovery of hundreds of firearms and explosives, and the discovery of enemy encampments,” President Duterte emphasized.

“We will see to it that the nation that we hand over to our children is one that is more stable, harmonious and progressive. I therefore ask each of you to continue doing your part so that we may soon realize our aspiration for a lasting peace and stability across the nation,” President Duterte added.
