President Rodrigo Roa Duterte talked to the officers and personnel of the Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office (PPO) during his visit to the Ozamiz City Police Station.

In his speech, President Duterte vowed to put an end to illegal drugs, narco-politics, and corruption during his term. According to him, he ordered the police and the military to destroy the apparatus and the organization of illegal drug syndicates.

“Pumunta ako dito just to assure you, at kayong mga taga-Ozamiz na nakatikim na kayo ng narco-politics. It is here to stay for a while. I hope I can get rid of it before I go out of my office… basta ako, I am committed to that,” he said.

The Chief Executive recalled the occasion when he assembled and talked to the Philippine mayors in Malacañang and told them to stay away from illegal drugs and spare the youth from it because it will destroy the country.

“Alam mo, kapag bayan ang pinag-usapan, wala tayong pinag-usapan. At sabi ko, huwag ninyong sirain ang mga anak namin… ang ating pag-asa at ang ating kayamanan sa mundong ito ay ating mga anak,” he remarked.

Furthermore, President Duterte assured the police force that the government is establishing a fund that will benefit the future of their children’s education.

“What I can assure you is mayroon ng mga benefits and before I go out, mayroon na akong seed money na PhP 20 billion…. ito sa edukasyon ng mga anak ninyo,” he stressed.

“Tsaka hindi ko kayo pabayaan. Kung may mga anak na kayo, sigurado makatapos. Libre naman ‘yang edukasyon, I just signed the law,” he added.

Prior to his talk, the President inspected a gallery of high-powered firearms that were surrendered to the Ozamiz City Police.

He also awarded the ‘Medalya ng Kadakilaan’ to the Misamis Occidental PPO members, namely, P/SSupt. Jaysen De Guzman, P/Supt. John Francis Encinareal, P/CInsp.
