President Benigno S. Aquino III, together with the Cabinet Members, held a budget presentation for the Fiscal Year 2015 in Malacañang.

In an opening prayer led by Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Secretary Teresita “Ging” Deles, she prayed that the Cabinet Secretaries be reminded that politics can be friends and not foe, and that it can be used for social change.  Also, she prayed that they be given the guidance of humility to see and honor the lesson of their charges and shortcomings.

In his opening statement, President Aquino said that he decided not to accept the resignation submitted yesterday by Budget and Management Secretary Florencio “Butch” Abad, noting that the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) benefitted the Filipino people.  He added that to accept Secretary Abad’s resignation was to assign to him a wrong, and that he cannot accept a notion that doing a right to the people is a wrong.
