President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. received a warm welcome from President Halimah Yacob during his inaugural State Visit to the Republic of Singapore.

A welcome ceremony was accorded to the President followed by a signing of the guestbook and photo opportunity at the Istana that serves as the official residence and office of the President of Singapore.

In a meeting with President Halimah, both Presidents discussed the two countries’ diplomatic milestones such as the celebration of the Golden Jubilee marked by a State Visit of the Singaporean President to the Philippines in 2019. Other topics included boosting two-way tourism in the post-pandemic era, mutual recognition of vaccine certificates, and Singapore’s technical and human resource development assistance to the Philippines, among others.

Meanwhile, in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, the two leaders discussed various topics concerning political and security cooperation, economic cooperation and post-pandemic recovery, as well as exchanged views on regional and global issues.
