In a groundbreaking event that marks a new chapter for the Philippine skateboarding community, Skate Pilipinas hosts the inaugural National Park Competition at the BMX and Skatepark in Tagaytay City on August 24, 2024.
This landmark competition gathers top Filipino skaters, featuring thrilling performances from some of the country’s most prominent athletes. Among the celebrated participants are Jericho ‘Kiko’ Francisco and Mazel Paris Alegado, both of whom have made significant marks on the international stage.
Kiko, a seasoned national athlete and Olympian, wins today’s first prize in the men’s division, bringing his experience from the World Skate Olympic Qualifier Series in Dubai, Shanghai and Budapest to the local scene. Meanwhile, Mazel, the first prize winner of the women’s division, is the youngest skater (10 years old) in the Philippine team. She continues to impress with her exceptional skills which have already gained international recognition.
This competition not only highlights the incredible talent within the Philippine skateboarding community but also serves as a vital platform for emerging skaters to shine, celebrating the country’s vibrant and burgeoning skate culture that fosters a sense of unity and camaraderie among Filipino skaters.
