President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. checked on the latest situation and updates regarding the damages brought by Super Typhoon ‘Egay’ in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) as he presided over a situation briefing in the Municipality of Bangued.

The CAR is one of the regions in Northern Luzon badly affected by the onslaught of Super Typhoon ‘Egay’. Due to strong rains and massive flooding, the calamity left more than 49,000 families displaced and caused extensive damages to the agricultural sector amounting to PhP90.8 million which affected 3,000 farmers.

The Provincial Government of Abra and the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) – CAR gave their respective reports about the situation over the Region before the President.

As Super Typhoon ‘Egay’ ravaged much of Northern Luzon, President Marcos Jr. reaffirmed the Administration’s commitment in addressing the situation through a whole-of-government approach to ensure the safety and rehabilitation of those affected by the calamity.
