President Rodrigo Roa Duterte talked about nurturing peace and stability during a situation briefing by local leaders of Basilan and senior officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) at the 104th Infantry Brigade Base in Bgy. Tabiawan, Isabela City, Basilan.

Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Governor Mujiv S. Hataman, Basilan Governor Hadjiman S. Hataman-Salliman, Congressman Jum J. Akbar of the Basilan Lone District and Isabela City Mayor Al-Qaid J. Akbar were present to give a situation report of local government units (LGUs) in the area.

Meanwhile, Regional Director of the PNP-PRO ARMM P/C Supt. Agripino G. Javier, Commander of the 1st Infantry Division of the Philippine Army (PA) MGen. Gerardo F. Barrientos, Jr. and Commander of the 104th Infantry Brigade Philippine Col. Cirilo Thomas P. Donato, Jr. led the situation briefing of the government security forces on lawless elements in Basilan.
