President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. presided over a sectoral meeting with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on its catch-up plans and other directive updates at the State Dining Room in Malacañan Palace.

The discussion covered the Department’s most recent budget report and measures to improve utilization, as well as updates on the digitalization of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), where the DICT e-Government Team has developed the platform and system for the successful integration of the digital ID into the eGov Super App that can now be securely accessed by application users.

The DICT is set to work with the Office of the Executive Secretary for the digitalization of the national IDs, while also ensuring that these are accessible to communities in remote areas.

The meeting also tackled the implementation and timeline for the rollout of the eGovPay platform which shall simplify payment acceptance for government agencies and enhance the government’s data management, among others.
