President Benigno S. Aquino III served as the guest of honor and speaker in the 45th anniversary celebration of the Presidential Management Staff (PMS) held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.
In his speech, the Chief Executive thanked the PMS for its contribution to the success of his administration. “Sa paggawa ko ng desisyon, talagang naging kabalikat ko kayong lahat. Kaya naman sa inyong anibersaryo, tanggapin ninyo ang personal kong pasasalamat para sa propesyonalismo at matatag na suporta na tatak ng Presidential Management Staff,” President Aquino said.
The PMS was established on 08 July 1976 pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 955. In January 1987, the PMS was given a fresh mandate by former President Corazon Aquino to serve as the President’s primary technical arm. Since then, it has been the primary government agency responsible for providing technical assistance and advice to the President in exercising overall management of the development process.
