“Talaga pong nagpupursige tayo na maibalik sa normal na kondisyon, sa lalong madaling panahon, ang mga nasirang tahanan, imprastraktura at kabuhayan nitong bagyo,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said, expressing his commitment to supporting recovery efforts as he outlined various government initiatives aimed at mitigating similar disasters in the future.

Addressing farmers, fisherfolk and their families from 15 municipalities in Camarines Sur, President Marcos Jr. reiterated his Administration’s plan to revisit the Bicol River Basin Development Program (BRBDP).

The Chief Executive issued several directives, particularly to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), to develop robust and well-planned infrastructure for the BRBDP. He welcomed the completion of the updated Master Plan and Feasibility Study for the Bicol River Basin, noting that engineering designs are expected to commence in the first quarter of 2025.

“Kaya sa DPWH, DOTr, DTI at iba pang ahensya, dapat masiguro natin na ang imprastraktura ay matitibay at pinag-aralan nang mabuti. Suriin ninyo ang mga materyales na gagamitin at proseso sa pagpapagawa ng mga ito,” he said, urging various government agencies to collaborate with local government units (LGUs) to ensure that development plans are integrated and future-proof.

In closing, the President expressed his gratitude to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) partners and the private sector for their support in extending aid and resources to affected communities.

“Mga kababayan, hangad ko na mas pagtibayin pa ang ating pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan para sa isang mas maliwanag na Bagong Pilipinas,” President Marcos Jr. ended in his message.
