President Rodrigo Roa Duterte warmly welcomed and accepted the letters of credentials presented by the Ambassadors-Designate from Chile, Colombia, India, and Austria in a series of ceremonies at the Reception Hall of Malacañan Palace.

The new envoys are Ambassador Jose Miguel Capdevila Villaroel from the Republic of Chile, Ambassador Victor Hugo Echeverri from Colombia, Ambassador Jaideep Mazumdar from India, and Ambassador Bita Rasoulian from the Republic of Austria.

In brief remarks after accepting each credentials, President Duterte greeted the Ambassadors-Designate for being assigned in the Philippines and conveyed his hopes of further strengthening relations in various aspects with their respective countries.

For Ambassador Villaroel, the President expressed his hopes of increasing trade and commerce between the Philippines and Chile.

Through Ambassador Echeverri, he thanked Colombia for hosting around 150 Filipinos in the nation.

With Ambassador Mazumdar, the Chief Executive is looking forward to exchanging best practices with India.

And to Ambassador Rasoulian, President Duterte is hoping that her stay in the country would develop into a more robust relation between the Philippines and Austria.

Likewise, the President invited the four envoys to visit his hometown of Davao City during their stint in the country.
