President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. warmly received His Excellency Endo Kazuya, Ambassador-Designate of Japan to the Philippines, as he presented his letter of credence in a ceremony at the Reception Hall in Malacañan Palace.

In brief remarks, the Japanese Ambassador conveyed his commitment to bolster the bilateral relations between the two countries as Strategic Partners. He expressed his deep appreciation for President Marcos Jr.’s commitment to deepening the trilateral cooperation with the United States and Japan, highlighting the upcoming historic Leaders’ Summit of the three countries on April 11, 2024.

In response, President Marcos Jr. acknowledged the strong diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Japan since its establishment, and conveyed his utmost confidence in Ambassador Kazuya, trusting that his tenure in the Philippines would further strengthen these relations to the mutual benefit of both countries.

Ambassador Kazuya succeeded Japanese Ambassador Koshikawa Kazuhiko, who concluded his tour of duty in the Philippines in March of this year.
