President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. welcomed His Excellency Nader Nabil Zaki, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Philippines, during the formal presentation of credentials in Malacañan Palace.

Ambassador Zaki conveyed that Egypt remains committed to strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing trade and investments, and promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

At present, the Philippines and Egypt have education, cultural cooperation, and scientific and technical cooperation agreements.

For his part, President Marcos Jr. expressed hopes that the Egyptian envoy’s stay in the country would be constructive and productive, similar to the experiences of his predecessors.

The Philippines and Egypt established formal diplomatic relations on 3 March 1946 and will be celebrating 79 years of diplomatic ties this year.
