President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. engaged in a brief discussion with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong of the Republic of Singapore in a phone call at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.
The President expressed sincerest gratitude to the Prime Minister for the assistance extended by his country to the Philippines in the wake of Severe Tropical Storm (STS) ‘Kristine.’ Singapore deployed a C-130 aircraft that was used to transport non-food relief supplies from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to Naga City.
The Chief Executive added that the Philippines is always ready to partner with Singapore and provide assistance if the need arises.
Aside from Singapore, neighboring countries from Southeast Asia also sent help to the Philippines, particularly to aid in the delivery of relief and humanitarian efforts across affected communities. Indonesia provided an H225M Caracal and an MI-17-V5 Helicopter, Malaysia deployed a Eurocapter EC-725, and Brunei Darussalam dispatched a C-295 aircraft and two S-70i helicopters.
