President Rodrigo Roa Duterte commended the various achievements and milestones of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) under the leadership of Lieutenant General Rozanno Briguez as its former Commanding General in a Change of Command and Retirement Ceremony held in Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.
The Commander-in-Chief acknowledged the outstanding tour of duty of Lt. Gen. Briguez in the aerial warfare service branch of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), saying that “he pursued reforms that professionalized and raised the morale of our troops, fostered camaraderie with our air forces, and upgraded thereby our fighter planes and airbases, improving the capacity and effectiveness of the PAF.”
“General Briguez, we thank you for your trailblazing leadership that further enabled the PAF to fulfill its vital role in our whole-of-nation approach towards achieving security and inclusive development of our country,” the President added.
During the event’s rites, Major General Allen Paredes, who is designated by President Duterte, formally took over as the new PAF Commanding General.
Prior to his appointment as the PAF’s new “Pilot-in-Command”, Major General Paredes served as commander of the Air Logistics Command and former wing commander of the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing. He is a proud member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) ‘Maringal’ Class of 1988.
