The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) concludes its two-day CommUnity Caravan by offering students a unique opportunity to engage with various aspects of media and communications at the University of Makati in Makati City on April 30, 2024.
The event showcases booths from different PCO affiliated Agencies, providing insights into television (TV) reporting, radio broadcasting and the inner workings of media.
Students also have the chance to register for an on-the-job training as interns, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the field.
Attendees are given the opportunity to navigate the complex media landscape, including identifying fake news, misinformation and disinformation. With the proliferation of digital media, these skills are more important than ever, empowering students to critically evaluate the information they encounter online.
Generously shared by the participating Agencies, high-end gadgets and equipment are made available for students to use during the event. This hands-on approach allows attendees to familiarize themselves with the latest technology and techniques in media production.
Throughout the two-day event, students engaged in interactive workshops, panel discussions and demonstrations, gaining insights into the diverse career opportunities within the field of media and communications.
As the CommUnity Caravan comes to a close, participants express gratitude for the invaluable experience gained and look forward to applying their newfound skills in their academic and professional pursuits.
