President Benigno S. Aquino III hosted the annual celebration of Pasko ng Batang Pinoy attended by 1,500 streetchildren at the Kalayaan Grounds in Malacañang.

The President, together with Social Welfare and Development Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Soliman, distributed school supplies for the children and Noche Buena gift packs for their families. Kid-friendly snacks such as hotdog, ice cream, cotton candy and popcorn were enjoyed by the homeless and underprivileged children during the event.

In his remarks, President Aquino told the children that his government is doing its best to provide a better future for them through strengthening the education system in the country.

“Gusto naming paunlarin ang inyong kaalaman at magkaroon kayo ng maayos na hanapbuhay paglaki ninyo,” the President stated.

The kids came from seventeen local government units in Metro Manila including the cities of Pasay, Parañaque, Marikina, Valenzuela, Taguig, San Juan, Pasig, Navotas, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Quezon, Malabon, Makati, Caloocan, Mandaluyong, Manila and Pateros.
