Participation of President Benigno S. Aquino III
to the Bali Democracy Forum VII

President Benigno S. Aquino III is scheduled to visit Indonesia to participate at the Bali Democracy Forum VII that will be held on October 10, 2014.
The dialogue-based sharing of experiences and best practices forum aims to promote and foster regional and international cooperation in the field of peace and democracy. This year’s theme is “Regional Development in the Democratic Architecture: Dynamics of Political Development, Social-Economic Progress and Public Participation in the Democratic Process.” It is expected to be attended by 51 countries and 68 international observers with President Aquino as co-chairman. Other leaders who will attend the event are Timor Leste’s Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei.
In his visit to Bali, President Aquino is scheduled to receive the “Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna” or the “Star of the Republic of Indonesia,” the highest decoration given by the country to an individual who has rendered extraordinary service to the integrity, viability and greatness of Indonesia. The President is the first ever Filipino who will receive the said award.
