to the 25th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits

President Benigno S. Aquino III heads to Nay Pyi Taw, the administrative capital of the Union of Myanmar, to participate in the 25th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits from 11-13 November 2014.

With the theme “Moving Forward in Unity to a Peaceful and Prosperous Community,” the summit emphasizes the solidarity of ASEAN as the first and foremost ingredient in order for the regional bloc “to be credible in the world and to be fully integrated into a community.”

Aside from the summit proper, this year’s event will feature the launching of the ASEAN Communication Master Plan and the ASEAN Institute of Green Growth Economy.

The ten ASEAN Heads of State/Government will be joined by their fellow leaders from Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, United States of America, and the United Nations Secretary General.
