President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos led the ‘Parangal ng Kalayaan 2025’ at the Kalayaan Hall in Malacañan Palace.

The event honored the exceptional artistry and creativity of the participating contingents during the Parada ng Kalayaan 2025 held last June as part of the celebration of the 127th Anniversary of Philippine Independence.

Awardees of the Parangal received certificates of recognition, trophies and cash prizes in two (2) categories: the Float Competition and the Festival Performance Competition. The President also commended the contingents for their artistic mastery and contributions toward deepening the Filipino people’s understanding of the nation’s rich historical narratives.

“Dahil ang Bagong Pilipinas ay hindi lang tungkol sa pagsulong; ito rin ay pag-alala at pagbibigay-halaga sa ating pinanggalingan. Your creativity, your passion, the spirit that brings depth and meaning to who we are as a nation. Kaya’t saludo po ako sa inyong lahat,” he stated.

Among the notable winners are ‘Ikkis Ti Candon’ from Candon, Ilocos Sur and the ‘Tultugan Festival’ from Maasin, Iloilo, named Grand Champions of the Float Competition and Festival Performance Competition, respectively.

Organized by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), the Parangal ng Kalayaan 2025 served as a tribute to the creativity, effort and patriotic spirit of all participating groups that contributed to the success of this national event.
