President Rodrigo Roa Duterte gave emphasis on the administration’s agenda of a clean, efficient and productive government in his speech at the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation’s (PAGCOR) 2018 Kick Off: ‘Game On! All In For Nation Building’ held at the Manila Hotel in One Rizal Park, City of Manila.
The President spoke about his unwillingness to enter gaming establishments as he does not gamble, but expressed his delight at their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, the jobs that the industry creates, and the taxes that these establishments pay that support the country’s development.
“If there is a wrongdoing, kindly report it to us,” urged President Duterte to his audience after speaking about how extortion activities, especially by government officials and law enforcers, must be stamped out to rid the country of graft and corruption.
The President also promised that after a proper investigation, more corrupt government officials would be fired to reinforce the administration’s no tolerance agenda against dirty politics.
He continued by discussing the destruction brought by religious extremists in the country, the continued fight against terrorism and criminality, and expressed the importance of the continued contributions of private businesses to the country through paying their taxes.
The President was joined in the event by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Andrea Domingo, PAGCOR President and COO Atty. Alfredo Lim, other government officials, and the heads of several prestigious casino resorts and hotels in the Philippines.
