President Rodrigo Roa Duterte graced the medical professionals at the opening ceremony of the Philippine Orthopaedic Association (POA) 27th Midyear Convention at the SMX Convention Center in Davao City.
The convention’s theme, ‘DDS: Difficult and Damaged Surgeries in Orthopaedics,’ aims to tackle real challenges that the Filipino orthopaedic surgeon faces in and out of the operating room. Its goal is to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills when confronted with surgical complications.
In his speech, the President shared this brief message regarding orthopaedics. “…Do not forget the orthopaedics, as much important as anybody else in the medical science,” he stressed.
Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Dr. Paulyn Jean Rossel-Ubial, Philippine Orthopaedic Association (POA) President Dr. Paul Cesar San Pedro, POA-South Mindanao chapter officers, board members, POA chapter presidents, Philippine Board of Orthopaedics officers and board members, as well as other surgeon professionals attended the midyear convention.
