President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and His Majesty King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein held an Official Work Luncheon at the Al Husseinieh Palace in Amman, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (HKJ).
In their opening statements, both leaders expressed cooperation and support to combat the surge of terrorism and Islamic extremism — a shared experience where both countries felt united.
President Duterte also expressed his gratitude to His Majesty for opening his country’s doors to many overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
“I would also like to make most profoundly to thank the people of Jordan, your Highness, for hosting these so many thousands Filipinos to earn their living and I hope that however little it maybe, the human effort, it will living about at least movement in your societal exercise here, especially household helpers and all, and I would also like to thank your kindness, your benevolence that we got treated very, very well and so I am very happy also to hear that and forge our concern against terrorism which brings us here,” President Duterte said.
Both leaders ensured that the historic meeting in Jordan would yield to deeper ties and cooperation between the two countries.
