President Benigno S. Aquino III welcomed Turkey Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu to Malacañan Palace during the latter’s Official Visit to the Philippines.

After the arrival ceremony, the Prime Minister signed the official guestbook and then proceeded to a courtesy call with President Aquino. After the call, the two leaders continued to a luncheon where they were joined by their respective delegations. Both leaders expressed their gratitude towards the 65 years of great relationship between the two countries despite the geographical distance.

An expanded bilateral meeting was then led by President Aquino together with his Cabinet members and Prime Minister Davutoğlu with his deputy and other senior advisers. Soon after, the two leaders witnessed the signing of the Air Services Agreement by Transportation and Communications Secretary Joseph Emilio A. Abaya from the Philippines and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek from Turkey.

To cap things off, the President and the Prime Minister gave their respective messages in a joint press statement. They expressed each country’s dedication and continuing friendship to further strengthen tourism, trade and economic ties of the two nations.
