President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the oath-taking of the newly elected officers of the Malacañang Press Corps (MPC) at the Heroes Hall in Malacañan Palace.
After the ceremony, President Duterte entertained multiple questions from the MPC in a nearly hour-long session.
In the press conference, the Chief Executive addressed several concerns raised recently by the public, including his health status, updates on the medical test results at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center, his foreign visit to Hong Kong, the possibility of suspending excise tax on oil products, and the increase in inflation rate, among others.
The President also revealed several of his Cabinet Secretaries who are potentially running in next year’s elections, namely Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, and Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary John Castriciones.
