President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the oath of office of former Senator Alan Peter Schramm Cayetano as the new Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary at the Presidential Guesthouse inside the Department of Public Works and Highways XI Compound in Panacan, Davao City.

Secretary Cayetano was accompanied by his wife, Taguig City Mayor Maria Laarni Cayetano, and immediate family members including Lino Edgardo Cayetano and wife Fille Saint Merced Cayetano, Taguig 2nd District Representative Pia Cayetano and son Lucas, and Mayor Laarni Cayetano’s sister-in-law Jennifer Anne Reyes.

The Commission on Appointments Foreign Affairs Committee immediately confirmed Secretary Cayetano’s appointment on May 18, 2017 (Wednesday). He succeeded DFA Acting Secretary Enrique Manalo.
