President Benigno S. Aquino III urged the elected officials of different organizations in the business sector to work closely with the government to create solutions that will forge stronger ties between government and the private sector during a mass oath taking ceremony held at the Rizal Hall in Malacañan Palace.

“As you advocate for the sectors you represent, keep in mind that you are operating within a context of a nation. The concerns of the businesses and the common Filipino should not compete against each other; in fact, if we are to create progress that is truly sustainable, the empowerment of both these sectors should be aligned,” he said.

A total of 83 inductees swore in as newly-elected officials from the following: 31 officials from Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), 15 officials from Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP), 17 officials from Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PHILEXPORT) and 20 officials from the Anvil Business Club, Inc.

The President was joined by Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo and Senator Edgardo ‘Sonny’ Angara Jr. The event was soon followed with a photo opportunity with the President.
