President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administered the oath of office to newly appointed Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Ralph Recto in a ceremony at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.

Prior to his appointment, Secretary Recto was elected as the 6th District Representative of Batangas and one of the Deputy Speakers in the House of Representatives.

He also held the positions of Senate Minority Leader and Senate President Pro Tempore during his three (3) terms in the Senate from 2001 to 2007 and 2010 to 2022. In 2008, he served as Secretary General of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

The oath-taking ceremony was witnessed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla.
