Located at the northwest Madaba in Jordan, and rising 700 meters above the Jordan Valley, Mount Nebo offers a breathtaking view of the Promised Land as seen by Moses.

It has been an important site of Christian pilgrimages where early church remains, including Byzantine mosaics, were unearthed by the Order of Franciscans during an excavation.
