Mohammad Husni Thamrin (February 16, 1894 – January 11, 1941) is an Indonesian national hero and a symbol of unity and independence during his time. He was once a member of the city council from 1919 to 1941 and served at the People’s Council or the Volksraad from 1927 to 1941.
His US$214,000 statue is made by Ketut Winata and was erected in 2012. Winata is the winner of the statue-making competition held by the Jakarta City government in 2000.
