Their Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan met with a few representatives of the Philippine Federation of Japan Alumni (PHILFEJA) in Intramuros, Manila.

PHILFEJA is an umbrella organization representing various sections of the Japan alumni community in the Philippines. It works closely with the Japan Information and Cultural Center (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines and with the Japan Foundation Manila Office.

Federation members who met the Imperial couple were scholars of the Japanese government, as well as private companies in Japan.
